Why gold plated jewellery? READ ME!

You’ve probably seen what’s happening with gold prices lately… yes, a bit shocking. A quick search will tell you everything. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on looking a little bit glam ✨
At “Cozee London” we are a small boutique and just to be clear—we are NOT selling solid gold pieces. And that’s actually the point.
Our jewellery has a very thin layer of gold (think of it like a delicate golden coating). It’s light, pretty, and most importantly… wearable without the stress of “oh my God I can’t lose this!”
Some people focus only on value and might see that as a downside. I see it differently. I love earrings. I love changing them depending on my mood, outfit, or where I’m going. If everything was solid gold, honestly… I’d have maybe two pairs and that’s it.
Gold plated jewellery lets you build a collection. Something for a coffee date, something for work, something for dinner… something for that outfit. It’s about variety, expression and a bit of fun without spending a fortune.
Technically, this is called “costume jewellery”—which sounds fancy but simply means pieces made to complement your look rather than sit in a safe as an investment. It’s about style, not seriousness.
Now… if you want them to last longer (and you do 😉), just remember a few simple things:
Don’t:
- Wear them at the gym, beach, pool, shower or sauna (water + sweat = not their best friend)
- Spray perfume after you’ve put them on—do it before and let it dry
- Use lotions or hairspray while wearing them (same idea—apply first, jewellery after)
Do:
- Gently wipe them with a soft dry cloth after wearing
- Store them separately so they don’t scratch each other
- Keep them organised, especially when travelling (they deserve a little care!)
These small habits really make a difference. Unless… you’re like me sometimes and just want something new anyway 😄 totally fair.
Go have a look at our earrings and see what catches your eye… you might find your next favourite pair.
P.S. Don’t forget your discount code 💛
